💭 Math Philosophy
At Prisma, our math vision is centered around equipping learners with the confidence and dexterity to navigate the realm of numbers without hesitation. We believe that a strong grasp of both conceptual understanding and mathematical fluency is essential for learners to thoroughly investigate and actively participate in the world around them. These beliefs drive our approach to mathematics at Prisma, math skills are both integrated into our themes and further refined with the support of a math coach.

🚀 How We Do It
- Math Journal: At the end of each mission learners will complete a Final Checkpoint in their math journal to demonstrate mastery of the skills covered throughout the mission.
- Numbers Lab: Learners have the opportunity to dive deeper into their maths skills in a community context with the guidance of their math coach.
- Badges: Learners earn badges each mission to demonstrate mastery of grade-level math competencies.
- Integrated Curriculum: Learners have opportunities to practice their math skills in other parts of their curriculum as well! You will see these skills in their projects and co-lab workshops.
- Personalized Coach Feedback: Coaches dedicate time in journal comments and 1-1s with learners to push them to grow in their math skills.
- Supplemental Practice: Learners completed daily asynchronous skill practice on a designated app (Zearn or ALEKs).
